WHITMAN BIG BIG BOOKS
BIG BIG BOOKS, Whitman, 1930's. Same format as their famous BIG LITTLE BOOKS, only much larger. Color covers w/b&w illus. on each page. Much scarcer than their smaller counterparts. Each book measures approx. 7 1/2" by 9 1/2", and has approx. 316 pages.

 #4068  TOM MIX AND THE SCOURGE OF PARADISE VALLEY, 1937. Interior is near mint. The book is tight and very clean. Some minor chipping on top and bottom edge of spine, overall the covers are vg/exc, illus. TOM rearing up on his horse TONY, while waving his hat.   89.95

Back cover has small tear near spine in lower right (nothing awful). There is minor chipping on a few of the pages bottom border due to factory miscut. Cover is bright and vivid. MICKEY MOUSE AND THE BAT BANDIT.  Big Little Book #1153,  First Printing variation.  1935.  interior is tight and clean.  Missing the spine.  normal age wear and soiling.  very good BUT no spine!  25.00

#1160.  MICKEY MOUSE AND BOBO THE ELEPHANT.  1935.  one page is loose, otherwise tight.  spine is intact.  there is a vertical crease in back cover with small pin holes.  a few small pinholes in the spine.  cover displays very nicely.  very good.  35.00

#725  MOTHER GOOSE, 576 PAGES OF.  1934.  odd size, extremely thick.  One of the rarest BLB'S out there.  This one has it's fault.  Worn, creases in the softbound covers, spine wear.  Crayoned on first few pages.  Has title page then page #5 "Cross Patch" - it may be possibly missing a page before it.  Missing page 183/184 and page 185/186.  The book is broken from the thick spine at that point.  This is only the 3rd example of this book that I have come across in 30 years of searching.  I have owned thousands of BLBs.  This is still nice enough to fill that gap in your collection!  overall, fair to good.  50.00

Very early Big Little Book, larger size format. Interior is tight and clean. Spine is complete, bottom ½ is separating and needs to be reglued. Cover is clean. Very good plus condition. VERY scarce!!     60.00

TIM TYLER IN THE JUNGLE.  by Lyman Young.  1933.  copyrighted by King Features.  Pleasure Books - Blue Ribbon Pop-Up book.  hardbound with 3 full color pop-ups.  The first has a black Panther leaping at a Gorilla - which is intact and works fine.  The centerfold is a Charging Elephant which is intact and works fine.  The last one has Tyler shooting a charging Gorilla - which appears complete but does not open properly.  Spine wear.  Interior is clean.  overall very good.  one of the harder titles to find in this series.  scarce book.  225.00
