July 4 1935 MID-COLUMBIA REGATTA - VANCOUVER WASH.  Celluloid pinback button.  green on yellow w/illustration of boat in center.  Manufacturer's paper label is intact.  Made in Portland Oregon by Irwin Hodson Company.  7/8" diameter.  colors are strong.  no flaws.  early and scarce!  40.00

scarce 1959 LAKE CITY YOUTH CENTER BEARDED VIGILANTES SHAVERS PERMIT. silver on blue. long associated with the state of Washington's Seattle Seafair and the hydroplane boat races. This event late became the "Western Vigilantes". Pre 1965 pins are hard to find; and the pre 1960's ones are quite scarce. brass colored metal back. 1.75" diameter celluloid pinback button. backside is clean. colors strong and bright. near mint to mint with no flaws.  12.50

The is the first BUDWEISER Hydroplane pinback button.  colors are very strong and bright. no rust. no flaws. very clean. The celluloid version is tougher to find! near mint.  12.50

1965 MISS SMIRNOFF U-90 oval hydroplane pinback button. full color action photo of the boat. 2.75" long oval celluloid. reverse is clean; no rust. colors are bright and strong. there is a tiny "pimple" on the front - typical of many of these pins. Created when too much pressure is placed on the pin on the backside; it pushes forward and makes a small "bump" on the front. Not very noticeable; but because of the rarity of this pin; it needs to be mentioned. no other flaws. Superior condition.  135.00
