pennant. very early circa 1910 TEXAS baseball pennant. individually sewn on dark brownish yellow letters on soft dark wine maroon felt. matching border. two piece pennant background. on the left side, the material matches the lettering and there is a full figure illustration of player. the color of the tassels match both of the pennant colors. tip is intact. the pennant is large - approx. 33.5" long (not counting the tassels) by about 14" wide. there are a few tiny moth holes - nothing awful. the colors are bright and strong. clean. superior condition! baseball pennants this early are extremely scarce! this is a quality display piece! 1500.00

Logic dictates that in all likelihood, it is from 1948. By 1955, Chief Wahoo was entrenched as the official team mascot, and since this is a generic Indian illustration, it is more logically from 1948. colors are strong and bright. no flaws. (the NEW Union Station was built in 1930 and the baseball stadium was opened in July 1931). the graphics are colorful and quite detailed! baseball collectors avidly seek examples of "stadium" pennants - and this is the earliest example that I know of! the colors are superior. this has been properly stored away all these years. Has portrait of him in his Cleveland hat. The 1.5" diameter celluloid pinback button is blue on white and reads LOU BOUDREAU DAY, OCT. 28, 1948. 1969 MINNESOTA TWINS Baseball Pennant. 11 ¾" by 29 ¾". Felt pennant, white lettering on dark blue MINNESOTA TWINS. Great logo of state of Minnesota outline, with 2 ball players reaching across the river to shake hands. One has the large M on sleeve for Minneapolis, the other has the STP logo on chest for ST. PAUL. It has the early M.L.B.P.C. dated 1969. This is a very early logo, used only for about a year. White border trim. Point is intact. Very minor pinholes in the corners. near mint to mint. 58.50

PHILA. individually sewn reddish pink old English style letters on soft gray felt. the border and tassels match the lettering. the name is complete, a shortened version of PHILADELPHIA. this pennant is circa 1910 to 1915 vintage. I am pretty sure is for the Philadelphia Phillies, but might possibly be for the old Philadelphia A's. there are no letters missing. there are a few moth holes and there is tear in the upper border. the very point of the tip is gone, hardly even noticeable. slightly dusty, but not soiled. displays very nicely. approx. 29" long. early and scarce! 150.00
